What are your personal KPI’S?

KPI’S stands for Key Personal Indicators. Many businesses have them for measuring their own performance. Many employees have them to measure their individual performance. Think about a staff member in sales which is a classic area for KPI’s.

Sales staff KPI’s may include number of sales calls, number of meetings, number of referrals, business $ value converted etc.

Personal KPI’s

We talk about setting goals and recommend we break the goals down into a road map of achievable results. Well these can often be broken down into key performance indicators as well. Consider the goal of running a marathon. You do not start by immediately going and running 42 km’s. Instead you break the goal down into sub goals or smaller goals. So for the month of March you may run 5 km’s 3 times a week. Then in April you increase it to 8km’s 4 times a week and so on.

These are your KPI’s. The next task is to measure how often you are hitting you KPI’s. If you run 5km 4 times a week then you are exceeding your KPI’s but if you run 4 km, 3 times a week you can see that you have to improve slightly.

We can set our own KPI’s in many areas of our life. Think about what your individual KPI’s may be.
